Why Should You Not Use a Razor for a Full Brazilian

As I have already told you, a “full Brazilian” is a pubic hair removal procedure that consists in removing all the hair from your private area – a technique also known as Brazilian Hair Removal. We already know that there are a multitude of ways of trying to get that perfectly hairless procedure down there and these include shaving, waxing or laser hair removal, as well as using creams for removing the excess hair.

Amongst these, shaving or using a razor for a complete Brazilian Hair Removal is the worst way to attack the problem and in this article I will share with you some reasons why you should not use a razor for a full Brazilian.

One of the main reasons why you should not shave using a razor for a full Brazilian is the delicate area that the razor will work on: since you will have to remove all the hair from your private parts, you will be near some very sensitive spots and the razor can easily wound these areas. And even the thicker skin surrounding your pubic area can be exposed to cuts and razor bumps, which can get infected and which won’t look good at all. And that’s one of the main reasons why you go for a full Brazilian in the first place: to look good and feel good with yourself!

Next, we have the problem that the results won’t last that long: only a couple of days after shaving your hair, it will grow back and you’ll either have to shave again or risk to cause some potentially serious injuries (especially to the very sensitive tongue) to your partner. And you never want to do that, I’m completely sure about it!

Finally, hair appears to be thicker when using a razor for a full Brazilian, even though it’s just an illusion caused by the fact that you’re actually cutting the hair and it grows thicker. And since your goal should be that of reducing the amount of hair you have on your pubic area and not make things worse, you should really avoid the razor.

So, finally, I guess that these three reasons alone are enough to stop you from using a razor (shaving) as a technique for a complete Brazilian hair removal. It is indeed cheap, but the risks and the cons are so many that this single reason does not matter.

Hair Removal: Shaving vs Waxing vs Laser

When it comes to Brazilian Hair removal (or basically any fashion of hair removal for your pubic area), there are three main ways to do it: you can either shave your hair with a razor, use wax to remove hair or go for the modern laser hair removal technique. In this article, we will see the Pros and Cons of each of these hair removal techniques in an ultimate battle of Shaving vs. Waxing vs. Laser!

NOTE: Even though we’ll refer to these procedures mostly for the Brazilian Hair Removal since this is the focus of this blog, the Pros and Cons stand for any style of pubic hair removal, actually!

Pubic hair removal by shaving

Shaving the excessive hair from your pubic area is by far the most accessible and the easiest way to remove hair and go for a full Brazilian or any other “style” you want down there. However, the fact that using a razor to remove your pubic hair is the easiest and cheapest way to do it doesn’t automatically mean that it’s the best way to go. There are actually a lot of Cons to consider and they might actually be “heavier” than the Pros.

Pros of Brazilian Hair Removal by shaving

- Very Cheap – all you need is a razor and you can find them for prices as low as $0.50 a piece
- Really easy to use – although special care should be taken because you’re dealing with a VERY sensitive area of your body, shaving is something anybody could do.
- Do it at home, alone – there are many women who don’t like their private parts to be seen by strangers and shaving offers the privacy of doing it alone in your own bathroom or wherever you feel like removing your pubic hair.
- Not painful – if you do it correctly, there should be absolutely not pain associated to the process itself. Basically shaving your pubic hair is the only non-painful hair removal procedure.

Cons of Brazilian Hair Removal by shaving

- Results won’t last that long – actually, hair will start growing back almost instantly and you will have to shave very often in order to keep the area as smooth as possible.
- Hair appears to be thicker – since you cut the hair and its edge is now blunt, it actually appears thicker (even though, in reality, it is not). Still, it’s an illusion many can’t live with
- Causes ingrown hair and razor bumps – usually, shaving will make hair grow back into the skin and after a while the look of your pubic area won’t be that pleasant at all!

Waxing as a hair removal technique

Situated somewhere in between shaving and laser hair removal price-wise, waxing seems to be the most used way of removing pubic hair (and not only) because it is the most balanced when it comes to pros and cons. Let’s see below the advantages and disadvantages!

Pros of Brazilian Hair Removal by waxing

- It’s pretty quick – even though a procedure will definitely last more than shaving, wax can be applied on larger surfaces and it will be pretty quick – several minutes and you should be done!
- You can do it at home – again, it’s something that can be done at home alone or with the help of a friend, so you don’t necessary have to make an appointment and show your private area to strangers. However, you reduce a lot of the potential risks by making an appointment!
- Effects last longer – You will have great results for the first couple of weeks and things will still look decent down there for up to a month!
- Effects can become semi-permanent – It has been proven that regular waxing destroys the hair follicle and therefore stops hair from growing. It doesn’t mean that you’ll have to stop shaving eventually, but there will definitely be less hair than when you initially started waxing years ago.

Cons of Brazilian Hair Removal by waxing

- You must be hairy first – because wax needs to “catch” on some hair, you must first let your pubic area hair grow before removing it: about one quarter inch is the minimum!
- It’s painful – many women are terrorized by the fact that they have to shave because they find the pain unbearable, especially in such a sensitive area!
- Effects are not permanent – even though they last longer than in the case of shaving and manage to reduce the quantity of hair, the effects are still not permanent and you should wax every 4-6 weeks.
- Irritations and burns – if used improperly or if some basic regulations are not followed, waxing can burn your skin (because the wax is hot when you apply it), cause irritations, red skin, skin infections and even diseases. Don’t get scared, though, these cases are rare, but if you don’t know what you’re doing it would be best to make an appointment and not do it alone at home!

Laser Hair Removal

The newest entry in the field of hair removal is Laser Hair removal which definitely has some pretty impressive Pros, including a permanent hair removal, but as in other cases some pretty important Cons. Check them out below to decide if this is the procedure you should go for!

Pros of laser Brazilian hair removal

- Effect is Permanent – You get rid of your hair permanently and this should be considered as a major Pro since it means that you won’t have to go through the pain for years!
- If hair re-grows, it’s lighter in color and not as thick as before: and certainly there will be few hairs regrowing!

Cons of laser Brazilian hair removal

- It’s expensive – compared with a session of shaving or waxing, the cost of laser hair removal is a lot bigger. However, you should have in mind that you won’t have to do it for years (if ever) after that!
- It’s painful – although not as painful as waxing is, you’ll still feel some discomfort when removing your hair by laser. The good news is that the pain stops as soon as the laser stops.
- It’s not very effective on blond hair, unfortunately.

Conclusion

Choosing a winner from this battle of hair removal techniques is pretty difficult because as you can see there are important Pros and Cons for each and every one of them. Basically, if you were to ask me, I would say that women should stay away from shaving because there are no real benefits in the long run and should go for a Laser Hair Removal procedure if they can afford it.

However, this doesn’t mean that Laser Hair Removal is the best way for a full Brazilian: you should carefully consider all the pros and cons and decide which of these techniques is the one that suits you the most. Not your friends, not people writing on blogs: carefully consider which of these is the best for you and go for it.

And don’t forget to always stay beautiful!
